Financial Controller - SUPERB ROLE
Croydon - London, South East

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Business Services company who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller for their Croydon based head office. Reporting to the Finance Director and supervising a small team, you will be responsible for running the month-end process, statutory accounting, budgeting & forecasting, implementing new financial controls and dealing with auditors. Key responsibilities include:
• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts, and analysis of monthly budget versus actuals
• Managing the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting process, supporting the Management Team where necessary
• Providing detailed variance analysis and commentary at both Group and Subsidiary level
• Preparing cash flows, managing cash balances and working capital on a regular basis
• Production of the annual statutory accounts and internal financial reports
• Liaising with external auditors regarding the year-end audit and sign off for statutory accounts
• Implementing financial controls & procedures/processes across all ledgers and ensuring appropriate systems are in place
• Managing all internal & external risks to the business, and offering recommendations
• Dealing with all tax compliance issues & regulatory queries
• Assisting with the accounts integration of potential future acquisitions
To be considered for the role you should be a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Financial Controller with experience in a fast-paced and growing business with proven technical accounting skills and reporting/business analysis skills. With excellent personal presentation, credibility and gravitas to work with a Board of Directors on a regular basis, you should have experience of group reporting, IFRS compliance and excellent Excel skills. Experience in Distribution or multi-site Retail operations would be a distinct advantage (or a first Industry role from a Top10 Accounting Firm) and you should have strong staff management skills, an analytical mind-set and the ability to work effectively at speed and under pressure.
