Vossloh Kiepe UK was formed by the German based Vossloh Kiepe group acquisition of Transys Projects Ltd in mid-2012.
The business is a leader in railway rolling stock engineering, enhancement and systems integration and provides high quality turnkey project and consultancy services to maximise vehicle utilisation and performance. With excellent rail engineering, production and project management skills; Vossloh Kiepe UK operates from design and engineering offices in Birmingham and from a range of project facilities to suit vehicle and fleet locations.
Vossloh AG is an MDAX-listed global player in rail technology markets with 5,000 employees generating over £1 billion in sales. Vossloh manufactured rail vehicles are supplied to the UK market, complementing the Vossloh Kiepe UK activities.
The requirement is for a General Manager of Vossloh Kiepe UK who will succeed the current Managing Director within a specified timescale.
The role will include immediate responsibility for customer relationship management, tendering, account development, capability development and be the top level point of contact in project delivery. There will be early opportunities for leadership at board level and the role will provide cover for the current Managing Director. Further responsibilities in due course will include operational performance, strategic management, group relations and the overall leadership and development of Vossloh Kiepe UK.
Candidates should have management team/board level experience in engineering project businesses with customer facing responsibilities and skills in relationship management. The role requires strong leadership capabilities supported by degree level qualifications and proven business management capabilities. Rail industry experience is not specifically required but the ability to network, exert influence and represent Vossloh Kiepe UK at all levels in the industry will be beneficial.
Candidates should be living, or prepared to live, within up to two hours distance of Birmingham and a relocation package can be arranged to suit. A fully expensed company car and other benefits will be available as part of the remuneration package.
